I ran lumen without homestead, just plain apache. After opening the /public folder i got this error :

Secara default instalasi wordpress standar dapat langsung berjalan di NGINX. Permasalah mulai muncul jika kita mengubah permalink wordpress situs kita dan menggunakan plugin W3TotalCache.

Untuk dapat menggunakan custom permalink wordpress kita dapat menambahkan konfigurasi dibawah ini :

Shortcode enable wordpress plugin developer to create special content (form,gallery,slideshow, etc) that users can easly attach to certain page/post.

[ shortcode_name shortcode_parameter ]

Mostly shortcode was inserted into post/page. But actually we can also call shortcode within our theme directly. For example if you have a shortcode to call a gallery and you want the gallery to be displayed on top of your web page / landing page.

Last week i got a project to develop a small HTML5 web pages as that behave like a powerpoint slide. This web application is going to act like a flash replacement. So the user must be able to run this web app with a double click on the file. One way to accomplish that task is by using command line script either in mac or windows.

We’re going to use bat file in Windows to do this task.

File : [windows]autostart_browser.bat

Multi threading is the current trend. Almost every computer we bought had a multi-core processsor. However turning our code from a single thread to multi-thread is not an easy task. Not all algorithm can directy converted to a “multi-thread” version.

One of the simplest solution is to fork-join our algorithm. As the name suggest, we first need to “fork” (split) our algorithm into several parts, process each part in a independent running thread. After all process were finished we “join” ( combined ) all the process again.

I first meet the necessity to use this algorithm when i have a class project to index several hundreds files using Apache Lucene. Indexing file is a trivial process. All we need to do is open , scan , and index the file.

Setting the JVM memory alocation for tomcat should be trivial in theory we only need to pass the : -Xmx1024m parameter to JAVA_OPTS during tomcat startup. However that not the case. I’ve been looking for month how to change this Tomcat JVM paramater. Finally i got the answer tonight and i want to share my experience 🙂

Note : This was intended to use with the tomcat that come with ubuntu bundle (apt-get install tomcat)

In Debian the JAVA_OPTS paramater we need to change is located in this file /etc/default/tomcatX.X.

Windows 7 adalah varian terbaru windows dari Mikocok, eh Microsoft kamsudnya :p sebenarnya pertama-tama ga gitu tertarik pake windows ini apalagi waktu itu udah ada Vista SP1 yang cukup stabil, tapi setelah baca baca review di forum Chip yang mengatakan bahwa windows ini lebih “gesit” maka tertarik juga saya untuk mencoba, apalagi ditambah iming iming RC 1 ini free buat dipake ampe Juni 2010 😀 mayan kan, windows legal geto 😀

Pertama kali install saya cukup kagum dengan windows 7 karena sebagian besar hardware saya langsung detek, misal vga card ama lan driver langsung keinstall, kalo windows sebelumnya kan mesti install driver lagi. Setelah pake beberapa minggu saya merasakan emang Windows 7 ini lebih baik dari vista, terutama pada response aplikasi yang lebih cepat, buka explorer juga ga lelet kaya vista dulu. Kelebihan lain yang saya rasakan adalah kalo uda dipake lama windows 7 ini tetep gesit, gak kaya mas-nya (baca windows xp) yang kalo makin banyak kita install program makin lelet aja loadingnya.

Nah dengan berbagai kelebihanya itu, ternyata yang namanya versi RC tetap memiliki BUG BUG yang cukup menganggu.. diantaranya adalah : 1.Driver Sound Card x-fi saya masih beta buat win 7, jadi kadang” suka tiba tiba kaga detek soundcardnya.. 2.Ngeprint di windows 7 dengan printer epson ini super lelet,,
